At 1322, RW911 dispatched Engine 4 and Rescue 14 to a report of an overturned vehicle at Mitchell Mill Rd and Fixit Shop Rd. New Hope Car 1 was first on scene, reporting a single vehicle MVA, with the vehicle on it’s roof. The driver had self extricated prior to the arrival of the FD, so New Hope units stood by until the tow truck righted the car and cleared the scene.
MARCH 8, 2018 – E4 & R14 RESPOND TO OVERTURNED VEHICLE AT MITCHELL MILL RD AND FIXIT SHOP RD
MARCH 8, 2018 – ENGINE 1 FIRST DUE TO 2-ALARM FIRE ON DANSEY DR
At 0756, New Hope Engine 1 was dispatched as the closest engine to 4713 Dansey Dr, in the City of Raleigh, for a reported structure fire. Engine 1 arrived first, reporting heavy smoke and fire from the C division of a two story multiple residential apartment building, and requested a working fire be transmitted. New Hope’s crew stretched a 1¾ inch handline into the structure and initiated fire attack on the second floor in the fire apartment. Raleigh Fire Battalion 1 arrived shortly afterward, and transmitted a second alarm on his arrival. Engine 19 arrived next, securing a water supply for Engine 1 and assisting the interior crews with fire attack.
There were multiple reports of people still inside the structure, so Raleigh Fire Rescue 1 was assigned search and rescue, and assigned to assist any residents in evacuating the building. Based on the situation, Wake EMS also transmitted an EMS second alarm, bringing additional EMS resources to the scene. 15 minutes after the initial dispatch, Batt 1 ordered all firefighters out of the second floor, with a full evacuation following shortly thereafter, allowing Ladder 5 to initiate aerial operations. Batt 1 also requested the Red Cross was requested for the possible relocation of 12 individuals.
Crews resumed interior operations, and knocked down all remaining fire and the fire was placed under control at 0842.

MARCH 8, 2018 – E4 & R14 RESPOND TO OVERTURNED DUMP TRUCK ON CAPITAL BLVD
At 1006, with New Hope Engine 1 still on on scene on the 2 alarm structure fire, RW911 dispatched NWE51, NWR35 and RFD E23 to 6828 Capital Blvd, for an overturned vehicle involving a motorcycle. Since it was in New Hope’s primary response area, New Hope Car 1 added Engine 4 and Rescue 14 to the assignment. Wake Forest Engine 5 also requested to be added to the assignment.
New Hope Car 1 was first on scene, reporting 1 overturned dump truck and one car that had went off the road, with 2 minor injuries. Car 1 held with Engine 4, Rescue 14, Northern Wake R35, and Wake Forest Engine 5 to assist with traffic and clearing of the road. All units cleared the scene in under an hour.
MARCH 8, 2018 – E4 AND R14 FIRST DUE TO MVA, OLD MILBURNIE AND LAUREN OAKS DR
At 0331, RW911 dispatched Engine 4, Rescue 14 & Car 2 (Deputy Chief Price) for an motor vehicle crash at Old Milburnie Rd and Lauren Oak Dr. When the units arrived on scene they found a car had struck the side of a bridge, with the guardrail through the car’s windshield and almost into the creek. Due to the nature of the crash, Engine 1 and Wendell E115 were requested to respond to the scene, as was EMS 63, EMS 64 and District 3.
Crews removed the injured parties, and Eastern Wake EMS 63 transported them to the hospital.
FEB 19, 2018 – TWO EARLY MORNING CRASHES KEEP BOTH STATIONS BUSY
At 0607, RW911 dispatched Engine 4 and Rescue 14 for a motor vehicle crash with a person pinned at Old Milburnie Rd and Rolesville Rd. Units arrived on scene to find a single car MVA. New Hope crews removed the driver from the vehicle, and turned her over to EMS for transport.
At 0913 hrs, RW911 dispatched Engine 1, Rescue 14, and Wake Forrest Engine 5 for an overturned auto at I540 & Capital Blvd. New Hope Car 1 was first on scene, and updated the address to I 540 and Triangle Town Center. Units from New Hope found no entrapment, and treated the injured personnel until EMS arrived. Crews also assisted NCSHP with closing three lanes of traffic to protect everyone while the involved vehicles were removed.
