JULY 9, 2018 – ENGINE 4 & RESCUE 14 RESPOND TO HEAD ON MVA ON ROLESVILLE RD

At 0730, Engine 4 & Rescue 14 (along with Eastern Wake EMS 64) were dispatched to Rolesville Rd and Fixit Shop Rd for a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Engine 4 was first on scene, reporting a two car head on MVA with one person down on the ground. Engine 4 and Rescue 14 blocked both lanes of the road, assessed and treated the injured, while NH 101 (Deputy Chief Price) requested Brush 7 to respond to the scene to assist in blocking the roadway.

Due to multiple injuries, EMS 63, District 6, and Wake County EMS Medic 92 were requested to the scene. One patient was transported to Wake Med as a Trauma, and the second was transported to a local hospital.

Units remained on scene until 0900, at which point the scene was turned over to North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Wake County Sheriff’s Office

JULY 9, 2018 – ENGINE 4 & TANKER 10 RESPOND TO WAKE FOREST FOR HOUSE FIRE

At 1508, Engine 4 and Tanker 10 were dispatched into Wake Forest for a a reported structure fire at 3304 Greenville Loop Rd. Wake Forest Fire Department Engine 3 was first on scene, reporting heavy fire from A side by the porch. Crews quickly knocked down the fire, and Engine 4’s crew was tasked with overhaul, while Tanker 10 was returned to service. The fire was marked under control, and all New Hope units were released from the scene in under an hour.

JULY 8, 2018 – ENGINE 4 RESPONDS TO STRUCTURE FIRE WHILE ON COVER ASSIGNMENT

At 0110, New Hope Engine 4 was relocated by RW911 into the City of Raleigh, to provide coverage for while Raleigh Fire Department units were operating at a working townhouse fire in North East Raleigh at 2605 Hamlet Green Dr. Engine 4 relocated to Station 28, and at 0238, was dispatched along with RFE6 RFE15 RFE4 RFE19 RFL9 RFL2 RFR1 RFBATT4 RFBATT5 to 2201 Raven Rd, in the City of Raleigh, for a reported structure fire.

First arriving units found a room and contents fire. Engine 4 secured by a secondary water supply, but the crews knocked down the fire and the fire was placed under control in 15 minutes. After being released by the IC, Engine 4’s crew returned to New Hope Station 2, and was able to get enjoy an uneventful rest of their shift.

JULY 1, 2018 – ENGINE 1 & RESCUE 14 ASSIST KNIGHTDALE FD AT O/T VEHICLE ON I540

At 1507 hr, Engine 1, Rescue 14 and Car 1 are assisting @Knightdale_PSA Fre Department at a two-car MVA, with one overturned, on I540 by the Old Milburnie bridge. Additional ems units requested to the scene

May 19, 2018 – ADVANCED EXTRICATION TRAINING WITH RALEIGH RESCUE 1

This afternoon, Raleigh Rescue 1 visited New Hope Station 1, to review advanced stabilization and extrication techniques. Crews from Engine 1 and Rescue 14 went over specialized tools carried by RFD Rescue 1, as well as stabilized a vehicle in an “unusual position” using struts from Engine 1 and chains off Rescue 14, before using hydraulic tools to gain access and remove a simulated patient from an overturned vehicle.

Crews also reviewed winch operations, as well as tools that could manually stabilize and move a 2000 lb vehicle.
