July 18, 2016 – STRUCTURE FIRE AT 2112 RUDDY RD (NEW HOPE FIRE DISTRICT)

Ruddy Rd 10 At 1847, New Hope Fire Department was dispatched for a reported house fire with 1 person still in the residence. New Hope Engine 4 responded from Station 2, and Engine 1 responded from Station 1, with Tanker 11 right behind them.

Engine 4 arrived on scene to find a 1 story residential structure with heavy smoke and flames visible from the roof and began stretching attack lines. Wendell Engine 115 arrived next, followed closely by Engine 1, and crews from both units made entry and encountered heavy fire in the Charlie/Delta side bedrooms, as well as the ceiling.

New Hope Car 1 (Chief McCauley) arrived, and requested 3 additional tankers from Roseville and Eastern Wake FD to respond due to the lack of hydrants in the area.

Interior crews knocked down the bulk of the fire, and the IC marked the fire under control in just under 40 minutes, cancelling the additional tankers.  Units stayed on scene overhauling and extinguishing hot spots, as well as  to assist with the investigation.

Units on scene included New Hope Engine 4, Engine 1, Car 1, Tanker 10, Rescue 14, Tanker 11, Tanker 9, Tanker 10, Wendell E115, Eastern Wake Pumper 2, Eastern Wake EMS Chief District 6, EMS 63 & the Wake County EMS Major Operations Support Truck 1.
